The festival showcases a diverse selection of films ranging from experimental shorts and documentaries to hybrid works that blur the boundaries between cinema, performance, and visual art. By focusing on independent voices and unconventional storytelling, Tendermesh highlights works that reflect the energy and diversity of contemporary creative culture.
Film Fest 1 was built around the idea of impulse. Rather than a strict category, the theme asked for filmmakers to use feeling. The films felt immediate and intuitive, holding onto emotion, tension, and curiosity in their most unfiltered form. Hosting animators dancers, visual poets and more from across the globe as we joined together to celebraate and disect many forms of community. From science fiction to end of life care each film shone a light on one of our core human instincts. Film Fest 2 naturally evolved into the theme of change, holding onto that initial energy while turning toward transformation. The films explored shifts in identity, environment, relationships, and ways of seeing, reflecting the instability and possibility that comes with change.

Independant Film Festival
Whether through intimate screenings, artist talks, or collaborative events, Tendermesh creates a space where filmmakers and audiences can explore new perspectives and celebrate the power of independent cinema. This hybrid format reflects the spirit of the Berlin underground arts scene where filmmakers, poets, designers, and performers intersect. Audiences are invited not only to watch films but to participate in conversations, discover new artists, and experience storytelling across multiple forms.
