Fashion Show "Ta3al Lahon"

A night of fashion and performances, with focus on four up and coming designers in the local Berlin community.

One night at Flutgraben, showcasing an array of performers with a spotlight on fashion. We were lucky to have more than 40 poc models to strut in the show. Instead of a convential catwalk, we had a live band play. The models walked to their beat.

Dance Performance by Federico Pipya

Poetry: Orshi

The evening began with a mesmerizing performance by the artist Orshi, whose raw, unfiltered poetry captivated the audience from the very first moment. With a mask covering their head and body exposed in its vulnerable state, Orshi shattered conventional expectations and invited the audience into an intimate, unguarded space. From this intimate beginning, the focus shifted to the art of clothing as wearable expression. Four visionary designers presented their collections in a reimagined catwalk experience that challenged traditional fashion show conventions. Rather than the expected DJ beats, a live band provided the soundtrack for this innovative presentation. The models gracefully moved down the runway, then circled around the band, striking poses that became part of the living artwork: fashion and music intertwined. Both feeding off of each other.

What happens when music, fashion, and dance collide?

Fashion Show

The live band, Nawala, served as both musical accompaniment and cultural ambassadors. Their name, an acronym for North Africa, West Asia, and Latin America, reflected the evening's spirit of cross-cultural connection and celebration. Each note resonated with the rich musical traditions of these diverse regions, creating a soundscape that was both familiar and refreshingly new.

The evening reached its conclusion with a live set and dance performance by composer Federico Pipia and dancer Lucio Seta. Their collaborative piece was mesmerizing. Moving through moments of tension and release. As the performance ended, the audience held the space. A collective emotional release swept through the audience, ending with tears.
